Thirukudalur
Thirukudalur Temple

Thirukoodalur is one of the 108 divya desams near Kumbakonam. All devas along with Nandhaka munivar came to have the darshan of Sri Narayana here. Since they came collectively ( Koodi in Tamil - collectively together), this place might have become known as Thirukoodalur. It is also said that river Cauvery passed through this place and regained her glory and respect.

As per historical evidences it is seen that this place was once submerged by the river Cauvery and Rani Mangammal renewed this temple. A devotee in Keezhvaluthur in his dream saw the idols buried in the sand took out them and put that back in the temple in the year 1741.
