This temple is in the village of Thiru Nangur and called as ThiruManikoodam.It's about 5 miles (8 kms) away from Seerkazhi. It is one among the eleven divyadesams of Thirunangur Tirupathis.
As with the other temples in Thiru Nangur, the same legend that says that Vishnu took eleven forms as requeusted by Lord Shiva and have been blessing the devotees.
Seven temples of Thirunangur, Thiru Arimeya Vinnagaram,Thiru Vanpurushotaman,Vaikuntha Vinnagaram,Thiru Thetriyambalam,Thiru Thevanar Thiruthogai,Thiru Manikoodam, Thiru Kavalampadi are adminstered under one adheenam and has direct patronage by Sri Sri Maharanyam Muralidhara Swamigal.
The Thirumangai Azhwar Mangalasasana Utsavam celebrated annually during the day next of Thai Amavasai (New moon day in mid January) is the major festival called Garuda seva during which the utsavars (festival images) of the eleven Thirunangur Tirupathis are brought on mount designed like Garuda, called Garuda Vahana, and all the eleven utsavars culminate at Thiru manimadakoil.
Moolavar of this sthalam is Sri Vaikunda Nathan, also know as Thamarai Kannudaya Piraan, in irundha Thirukkolam (Sitting posture) facing east.

Temple Timings It is normally open from 7 am – 10 am and 5pm-7 pm. After the Garuda seva which goes beyond midnight to dawn, the temple may not open on time the next day.
How to reach?
It is situated around 12 kms from Sirkazhi. If you drive your car it is 20 kms from Mayavaram and 10 kms from Sirkazhi.
