Triprayar Sree Ramaswami Temple is situated in , Triprayar, near Thrissur, Kerala. It is believed that the idol here was worshipped by Lord Krishna. The temple is situated on the bank of Karuvannur river called as Theevra or Purayar that flows in front of the temple.
This temple is one of four in Kerala state that form a set called "Nalambalam",(four temples) each temple dedicated to one of the four brothers Rama, Bharata, Lakshmana and Shatrughna. The Bharathan worshipped temple at Koodalmanikkam, for Lakshmana at Moozhikalam and Payammal temple for Shatrughna are other three temples.

The Temple :The moolavar of this temple is Sree Rama who resembles Maha Vishnu with chathurpujam (four arms) bearing a conch, a disc, a bow and a garland.He is popularly known as Triprayarappan or Triprayar Thevar.The idol of Sree Rama is adorned with necklaces and other jewelry. Images of Sreedevi and Bhudevi are on either side. There is an idol of Dakshinamoorthy, in the sanctum facing the south. Along with Lord Rama, there are sannidhis for Ganesha, Sastha,Hanuman, and Gosala Krishna.
Triprayar temple is rich in wood carvings. The sreekovil or karpagriham is circular in shape with a copper covered conical roof. The sanctum has several sculptures depicting scenes from the Ramayana Its walls are decorated with beautiful Kerala mural paintings. The namaskara mandapa is copper plated, and has 24 panels of woodcarvings representing navagrahas.
Rituals and Pooja
There are five poojas conducted here, usha pooja, ethirtha pooja, panthiradi pooja, ucha pooja and athazha pooja. There are three seevelis usha sheeveli, ucha seeveli and athazha seeveli.Nirmalya darshan and athazha pooja are considered very sacred. For athazha pooja devas and rishis are beleived to be present among the devotees to have darshan of the Lord.
Feeding the fishes in Purayar riverin front of the temple,after getting a token from the temple is a custom here. It is believed that the fishes are the pets of Triprayar Thevar and feeding them will please Him.This custom called 'Meen Oottu' (Feeding the Fish) is believed to reduce Asthma and for improving their health.
Festivals : The Ekadasi festival in the month of Vrichikam (November - December) is the main festival. On Ekadasi day, Sree Rama is taken in procession with around 21 elephants participating. Thousands of people gather here to witness the celebrations.
Thriprayar Thevar is the presiding deity of the Arattupuzha Pooram,held at the Arattupuzha Temple in Arattupuzha of Thrissur District. A total of 23 deities of various temples from different temples of Thrissur District participate in the Pooram festival known as Devamela and is considered as one of the oldest temple festival in the Indian subcontinent. On the day of Arattupuzha pooram, Triparayarappan goes there in order to participate in the pooram. The seven day Pooram festival is celebrated in the month of Meenam(March-April,Pankuni or Phalguna).
Temple location The temple is located 23 kms from Thrissur and 23 kms from Guruvayur.
Temple Timings The temple is open from 4:00 AM till 12:00 noon am and from 5:00 pm till 8:00 pm
Dress code Men should remove their shirts inside the praharam. Women can wear Saris, skirts & Salwar Kameez.

The nearest airport is Cochin and Irinjalakuda is the nearest major railway station. There are buses from Thrissur to this place.
